Dress Clips

A dress clip is a type of brooch which clips onto your outfit. They are easy to wear and like brooches, come in thousands of shapes and designs. They are easy to find in the secondary marketplace and can found in all price ranges to fit any shopper's budget.

DRESS CLIP OR FUR CLIP?

Where a traditional brooch has a pin stem or needle, dress clips and fur clips have different types of fasteners. A look at the clip mechanism will tell you which it is. If it has prongs it's a fur clip, if it has a snap-to-close mechanism, it's a dress clip. Here's one of each:

HOW TO WEAR DRESS CLIPS

The traditional way to wear a dress clip is by simply clipping it to the fabric as seen in these photos and illustrations I found on the internet.

But that's not the only way to wear them. They can easily be converted into traditional brooches and necklaces as seen in these how-to images provided by Merry Shugart.
