Birds Pin Vintage Mid-Century Mixed Metals Sterling Silver Taxco
I have a fondness for the mixed metals jewelry made in Mexico during the mid 1900s and this is a wonderful pin I call "Birds in Flight." It reminds me of the birds by Georges Braque. Copper, brass and onyx inlaid in sterling silver. Each stylized like a bird in flight. The side view shows the onyx sandwiched between silver. This pin has a sturdy, straight pin back and safety clasp and also optional loop for use of the pin as a pendant. The pin is stamped sterling, Taxco and has an eagle mark. Condition is good to very good. The pin has a 1 1/2" diameter.
